Harting extends Han-Yellock(R) industrial connector range with new connector and socket housing

Harting has extended its innovative Han-Yellock(R) industrial connector range with a new combined connector and socket housing which acts, in effect, as a space-saving distribution cabinet.

Socket housings are available for sizes 30 and 60, and the design of these aluminium connection boxes matches the appearance of the cable components perfectly.

Functionality is based on one and two cable inputs, which are available in metric thread sizes M25, M32 and M40. The new housings also have lateral functional surfaces, which can also be used for cable input if required. For the first time, applications requiring a 90° cable duct or locating the housing in an angled space can be accommodated comfortably.

As with all Han-Yellock(R) components, this user-friendly wiring system is designed for simple and rapid assembly. Both the socket housing and the sleeve housing are made up of two parts, making it possible to fit the insulation body from the connector and the socket side without the use of tools. This makes cable management easier and more controlled.

A core feature of Han-Yellock(R) functionality is the availability of contact bridging or additional connection points in the connector.

The option to fit a PE busbar in the component base provides a further function which converts the connector and socket housing into a space-saving distribution cabinet.

Harting - Manageable next generation networks: Ha-VIS mCon 3000

HARTING has extended its Ha-VIS mCon 3000 range, making a sensible addition to its Ethernet switch offering. The series makes it possible to build a convergent and manageable network. The extended temperature range, mechanical stability and comprehensive management software all make for a high level of operating reliability and meet the toughest industrial demands.

In addition to RSTP, the new switches also offer Medium Redundancy Protocol (MRP). By integrating the PROFINET IO stack, next generation Ha-VIS mCon 3000 switches.

Harting - Han PushPull cable-to-cable housings

Harting Push-pull cable-to-cable housings enable on-site installation flexibility.

New from Harting, the Han PushPull cable-to-cable housings enable flexible cabling options for energy, data and signaling transmission. Specified to protection type IP65/67, the company says housings offer several advantages for device connection and the installation of switch cabinets and machines for machine and plant construction.

The company contends that, as it is rarely possible to allow for detailed concrete cable lengths in advance during the planning phase of a plant, when installing the plant, connectors that can be assembled on-site in the field are a great help, as cables can be adapted to fit. However, a requirement still exists for pre-assembled system cables in such environments, the better to reduce the risk of user errors, which can easily occur with untrained staff carrying out on-site assembly. Harting maintains that the Han PushPull cable-to-cable housings meet both requirements.

The company says the product makes it possible for installers to use "ex works" pre-assembled and individually tested system cables, and flexible cabling and cable length extensions, on an on-site basis. If an existing tested system cable that has been pre-assembled in the works is not enough for cabling the plant, the appropriate additional extension cable can be used to ensure that plant cabling is completed to requirements and using optimal lengths. This means that users obtain tested system cables ex works with a functional guarantee, but also the required freedom for on-site cabling.

For the transmission of Industrial Ethernet and power supply, cable-to-cable housings with the appropriate contact inserts can be fitted for the Han PushPull family variant 4 (to IEC 61076-3-103) and 14 (to IEC 61076-3-1117). Bandwidth of up to 10 gigabits can be achieved with a reliable AWG 22-27 conductor cross section for Industrial Ethernet. For power supply, using 5 contacts, up to 690 V and 16A can be carried with a reliable conductor cross section measuring up to 2.5 mm sq.

Contact inserts and tool-free Insulation Displacement Connections are also available via the Harting's Han-Quick Lock quick connection and crimp connection technology.
